Make Money Blogging – Part 3
26 Jun
Enough of chit-chat, it’s time to talk money. You can write a blog for two main purposes – for fun or for business (= money). Knowledge how to force your blog to become your online revenue is very important, let’s get started.
A Little Warning
Personally, I find nothing worse than a fresh new blog with paid ads placed everywhere. Yes, you made a blog and you probably want money from it, but there is a set of steps that leads to that and adding paid ads is the last one:
- Create a blog.
- Write good content.
- Get visitors.
- Write more good content.
- Add paid ads.
Online advertisment is very closely connected to Google AdSense. Basically, you can join a system which displays relevant text ads to the content on your site. When a visitor clicks, you earn.
Such method is very simple, yet especially with AdSense you can wake up one morning and find out that your account has been closed for no apparent reason. There are of course alternatives, like AdBrite, Chitika or Bidvertiser – they’ll be discussed in another article.
If your page is big and famous, you can skip the middle-men and receive advertising offers directly from different companies related to your niche. Ultimately, that’s where you want to be.
Affiliate Marketing
Amazon, Click Bank, Paydotcom… there are numerous sites which offer you interesting commisions if you help sell their products. After you are established, you can add links to related products in your articles.
Other way to go is basing the entire article on product review. But, if your niche is not a review site and you suddenly switch from blog to product reviews, your entire crowd can just vanish and go somewhere else.
Don’t get greedy.
Your Own Products
This is the case of businesses based in the “real” world (say, travel agencies selling tours) or those famous and very well established online (say, a famous blogger writes a report why he’s famous).
Same rule applies here like with the affiliate marketing – unless you have attracted your visitors on the idea of buying your products, do not write 10 from 10 posts about them.
Your readers don’t want to make you money, they want to be rewarded for investing their time in you.
Thank you for reading the whole article and I’m looking forward to hit you with the final part of our guide – attracting visitors and most importantly, keeping them.
